My Sixties

by Bonnie

After experiencing Savoring Your Sixties, Carol Krom wrote this poem. It speaks so well to this time in our lives I asked for and received her permission to post it here.  Hope you enjoy it.

My Sixtes - poet

Carol Krom

My Sixties

Defining
Questioning and wondering,
The ability to change,
The want to remain the same,
Going into a future
With the lessons of the past,
Calm and gratefulness
Come from experience.
Forgiving self and others,
Sadness from loss,
Fears of loss to come,
A mixture of emotions that
Prove a deep appreciation
For what has been and what is.
An open heart and mind,
Celebration and awe for life.
Learning and relearning that
The inner flame of spirit does not age.
