Turning 60: 5 Lessons Learned continues with:
It’s different for everyone.
Duh! Yes, I know this is obvious and I bruised myself a bit before I really got it.
Different ages challenge different women. Some it’s 30, some 50, some never. (At least not yet, only time will tell if that changes.)
I was one of the “nevers” until 60. And I wasn’t very happy with myself for being bothered about something so insignificant. Especially when other women seemed to be doing fine.
So, for a while, I added judging myself into my nasty stew of approaching 60. That really helped. Not!
What worked for me was:
1) Realizing what I was doing to myself,
2) Stopping the comparisons to others who were not bothered, and
3) Starting a business for women like me. This has been especially fun and helpful!
I hope you won’t all start your own Savoring Your Sixties businesses
but that you will accept yourself and whatever you’re experiencing. And stop wasting energy comparing yourself to others.
